Helping More Children Play Tennis

Independent Tennis has been set up by two top tennis coaches. Its aim is to get more youngsters playing and to build a community of tennis-loving children. To that end we work with local primary schools, running school clubs and other tennis activities for them.

We also run regular tennis activities in two venues: Meadow Park, Borehamwood and Cavendish School in Hemel Hempstead. These are primarily for 5 to 10 year-olds who want to learn tennis in a fun way. Anyone can join in.

“Our 7 year old daughter really enjoys playing tennis at Meadow Park. There is a relaxed but professional atmosphere and Jane’s tennis has really improved. I would highly recommend this activity to anyone!”

Playing a Tennis Backhand

Tennis isn’t an easy sport. But once children can rally it becomes addictive and a lot of fun. We teach them using rackets, balls and courts suited to their size so they learn fast. We keep the costs to a minimum, helped by partners who support what we are doing, so that as many children as possible can participate and progress. Imagine what a boost this gives to their confidence.

Getting into tennis can be difficult. There are not enough tennis clubs in many areas and they tend to be costly. With Independent Tennis there are no membership fees, we provide all the equipment and fees for school clubs, group squads and individual tennis sessions are very reasonable. Now there is no reason not to join in!
